Alie’s family is originally from Naples. Her grandparents got married and honeymoon’d on the coast before migrating to the US back in the 1920’s, where they started their new life in Vermont. The area was a significant place to her grandparents and somewhere she’d always dreamed of visiting. When Alie + Mike came to me last spring and told me they were thinking of eloping in Amalfi and wanted me to capture their day I was honored to document such a heartfelt occasion in such a stunning location.
She was a little nervous about all the logistics, but I had traveled there a year prior for my own honeymoon and was familiar enough with the small coastal town to give her some direction and help with planning out her day.
Wanting to keep things simple, we rented a cute little villa on Airbnb with a pretty terrace and ordered a bouquet from a local flower shop. Shoutout to @staraceflorist for the gorgeous arrangement. The two exchanged their vows intimately and we all had a good laugh while my husband did his best informally officiating the ceremony.
The rest of the day was spent strolling the streets of beautiful Ravello, taking a evening sunset cruise where we popped champage and enjoyed the magnificent coastal views. To top off the evening we gourmandizing on pizza + wine @donnastellapizzeria.
It was perfect in every way and the highlight of my fall season! I loved sharing these photos and Super 8 film with them and feel incredibly lucky to have been witness to it all. Some of the photos even resemble a few of the photos of her grandparents on their wedding day! Such an incredible location, time and space to remember.
Congratulations Alie + Mike, we love you so much!
