Shrine Pass Engagement Session | Aspen + Slate
Engagement sessions are always special, but Aspen and Slater’s session at Shrine Pass in Colorado was truly unforgettable. Shrine Pass, nestled between Vail and Red Cliff, is a breathtaking location in the summer, with vibrant wildflowers in full bloom and the expansive mountain views stretching out for miles. It was the perfect setting to capture the love and connection that Aspen and Slater share.
Aspen and Slater’s story began during their college days in Arizona. From the moment they met, they’ve been inseparable. They quickly became best friends, finding that their personalities complemented each other in the most beautiful way. Aspen is like a ray of sunshine—her infectious energy lights up any room she steps into. She’s the kind of person whose smile can brighten your day, and her laughter is absolutely contagious. Slater, on the other hand, is the ultimate goofball, always making people laugh with his quirky sense of humor. He’s also incredibly kind, and it’s easy to see how much he adores Aspen. Their dynamic is effortless, and their love feels like a natural extension of their deep friendship.
As we made our way up to Shrine Pass, I could tell this was going to be a fun day. Aspen and Slater showed up in high spirits, ready to explore the picturesque trails and soak in the beauty around them. With the wildflowers swaying gently in the breeze and the mountains providing a stunning backdrop, we began to capture their love story in photos. The scenery was perfect, but what really made the shoot special was Aspen and Slater’s playful energy.
Throughout the day, Aspen would flash her bright smile, and Slater couldn’t help but crack a joke, leaving her in fits of giggles. They had this natural chemistry that made it so easy to photograph them. Whether they were holding hands while walking along the trail or sharing a quiet moment overlooking the valley, every shot felt authentic and full of joy.
One of the highlights of the day was when we decided to take a break and crack open some Coors Light. Shrine Pass felt even more magical as we sat down, enjoyed the cold drinks, and shared some laughs. It was a moment that perfectly captured the laid-back vibe that Aspen and Slater embody as a couple. They’re the kind of people who know how to enjoy life and make the most out of every moment, and that really came through during the shoot.
As the sun began to set and cast a golden glow over the mountains, we captured some final shots of Aspen and Slater against the backdrop of the breathtaking alpine scenery. The light was soft and warm, and it felt like the perfect ending to such a fun and meaningful day. Aspen’s radiant smile and Slater’s goofy grin were a perfect representation of the love and joy they bring to each other’s lives.
By the end of the day, it felt like I had spent time with old friends rather than clients. I’m so grateful I got to share in this part of their journey and witness the love they have for one another. Their engagement shoot at Shrine Pass was full of laughter, adventure, and genuine connection—a true reflection of Aspen and Slater’s beautiful relationship.
